HELLLO world, it’s been a while, huh?
We’ve been a bit busy, being jet lagged, getting chest infections and being supportive to very drunk boys who get thrown out of our shows and lose their friends.

We’re currently on tour with the rakes, although we missed Glasgow and Newcastle because of Katie/Tiny-Tim’s chest (phwoar!) infection (oh), but we have some of our own dates coming up, Like…

30th April, Fibbers, York
1st May, Sub Club (for Hinterland), Glasgow
2nd May, Cockpit (for Live at Leeds), Leeds (Just after Fight Like Apes. PARTY)
3rd May, The Victoria, Birmingham (all dayer with Sunset Cinema Club!)
5th May, Academy 2, Dublin
6th May, Aunt Annies, Belfast
8th May, The Farmhouse, Canterbury
16th May, Great Escape, Brighton
23rd May, Korova (if it’s actually been opened again) (for sound city), Liverpool

Fibbers is our first yorkshire show for a while, and I don’t think we’ve ever played there, so come down and make it a memorable one (just not for the wrong reasons).
tickets are available from all the usual places.

And so, onto this “Exciting Opportunity”.
We’re wanting people to ask us some questions. That’s it. ANYTHING goes, literally, we just get bored when we’re not on tour, and when we’re on tour you get a bit bored of speaking to the same people every day so come on, spice up our lives.
I’ve got an iron constitution so don’t be shy, send them over to
skylarkinanswers@gmail.com
or our myspace / twitter / facebook

If you want an individual answer (Katie and Nestor know about art, I know about music technology and cooking) then just stick one of our names in the subject line.

We’ll strive to answer every question, but none about African fortunes or bigger penises.

Please note: THE BEST QUESTION WINS A PRIZE. Probably some goodies and a copy of each of the three versions of the antibodies cassette, with 3 individual covers drawn by Jack Hudson. You should see them, they’re sexy. This is even more insentive for those of you outside the UK, because we’ll post the tapes to you for free and everything, and I don’t think they’ll be available in stores anywhere else.

if you need any tips I recommend one of my favourite sites EVER answers.yahoo.com

see here

I’ll blog about the states at some point, maybe when these next few weeks are over and I have 13 hours on a plane to Singapore to contend with.

Finally, this is what I’ve been feeling like for the last week or so

Please, please, no questions about Susan Boyle

Rakes and Sky Larkin..

Posted 24 Apr

Unfortunately Katie Harkin has come down with a chest / throat infection. She’s been to the doctors and has been told to rest. So we’re going to have to cancel the show tomorrow in Glasgow.

We apologise to anyone / everyone.

Hello everyone,

Sadly, the rain has returned to London after some wonderful summer like days. Team Larkin thought it best to communicate a few words about the American and Canadian release of The Golden Spike. Due to technical difficulties the release hasn’t hit the shelves. We’re assured it will be out pretty shortly and we’ll be sure to bring you all the info you need as soon as possible. We’re all really sorry that we havent been able to get everything to you as desired. Anyone with any further questions should contact us by email and click here

The Golden Spike.

Katie, Nestor and Doug at the actual Golden Spike, Utah, North America

Info stolen from Wikipedia…

Golden Spike National Historic Site is a U.S. National Historic Site located at Promontory Summit, north of the Great Salt Lake in Utah.

It commemorates the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad where the Central Pacific Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad met on May 10, 1869. The final joining of the rails spanning the continent was signified by the driving of the ceremonial Golden Spike.

The Golden Spike National Historic Site encompasses 2,735 acres
(1,107 ha). In 2002, it received 49,950 visitors. It was authorized as
a National Historic Site on April 2, 1957 under non-federal ownership.
It was authorized for federal ownership and administration by an act of
Congress on July 30, 1965.

In 1978, a general master plan for the site was adopted with the
goal of maintaining the site’s scenic attributes as closely as possible
to its appearance and characteristics in 1869. In 2006, a petition to
the Board on Geographic Names
resulted in a name change for Chinamans Arch, a 20-foot (6.1 m)
limestone arch at Golden Spike NHS. Named Chinaman’s Arch in honor of
the 19th century Chinese
railroad workers, the arch has now been officially renamed as the
Chinese Arch to mollify sensitivities about the original name (which
remains a common usage).
